The salt water pump is driven by the engine and pumps water through a
network of pipes in the heat exchanger. These pipes are surrounded by
coolant from the engine pressurised cooling system.
The coolant transfers heat from the engine into the salt water which then
flows into the exhaust and out of the boat.
